Learn to block a classic straw fedora / cloche / or widebrim on the first day, as well as learn about the different materials that can be used and possible shapes. Return on the next day and learn to finish your chosen hat, shape it and trim it.
You will end the workshop with a great addition to your summer wardrobe.

In this 3 hours class learn to cut sew and drape a soft and comfortable turban. This technique works with almost any fabric and can be styled in many different ways, creating the ultimate bad hair day solution!
All materials included, hand sewing skills a must, bring your own fabric if you like. If you want to try this technique in leather you will need to bring a nice soft skin along!

Silk and Sinamay are two familiar materials in the world of hat making - But what happens when you combine them together? The lack of raw materials and the desire to break conventions inspired Maor to develop the Sina-Silk technique.
The Sina-Silk is a material made by the two different fabrics in a unique method, that provides the advantages of both worlds.
In this taster class we will learn about silk and sinamay, discover the secret method for combining the textiles together, then learn how to manipulate this new material. We will create an incredible Waterlily.
Maor will guide you through from the initial idea to the assembling of all the pieces into a beautiful flower.
All you need is a creative eye.

Join Maor Zabar for a 2 day workshop learning to use thermoplastic to make Ikebana, Japanese floral arrangements.
Whether you are a hat making fan and want to experience working with thermoplastic or you are an artist who enjoys creating three dimensional object and care to learn an amazing new technique, This workshop is for you. sculpting techniques with thermoplastic is one of Maor׳s favorite ways to create headpieces.
The technique which he developed, combines two materials: thermoplastic and silk. As an artist it allows him to create sculptured flowers, leaves and other organic shapes.
During the workshop we will research and study the structure of your chosen elements, create patterns and bring them to life with the help of coloring techniques and the magic of kobracaste. By manipulating these incredible materials, we will turn our two dimensional pieces into 3D wonders.
The skills used in these glorious headpieces translate into many other light weight creations, your imagination can do the rest!

Learn to block a classic fedora / porkpie / or homburg in felt on the Saturday, as well as learn about the materials that can be used and possible shapes. Return on the Sunday and learn to finish your chosen hat, shape it and trim it. Work fast and you can block a second piece to finish at home (there is a additional charge for materials for the second hat).
You will end the workshop with a great addition to your wardrobe.
